Children

We know that childhood is an important and impressionable time in a person’s life and faith development.  With that in mind, we try very hard to create environments where children can be introduced to Jesus and his teachings in fun and creative ways.

Below are some examples of things your child can be involved in:

Children7Sunday School

Regularly spending time learning to know and love God’s Word is a vital part of a growing faith in Christ.

Each Sunday morning at 9:30am our Sunday School classes spend time hearing lessons drawn from the timeless stories from the Bible.

Classes are taught by loving adults who want to see the kids in their care learn to love Jesus as much as they do.

Junior ChurchChildren2

We believe elementary-age children can learn a lot from being in our morning worship services – both by participating in the worship and by seeing their parents and other adults participating.

We also believe that during the sermon time an age-appropriate lesson specifically designed with their needs and learning styles in mind makes a bigger impact on a weekly basis.

So elementary-age children start our service sitting and worshiping with their families and are dismissed to Junior Church just before the sermon.

We have a rotation of teachers who each have their own style of teaching that will engage and encourage the children’s faith and minds using creative lessons, crafts, science projects, and fun.

Emilie and LyiaNursery

The youngest members of our church family are very important to us!

Younger children are more than welcome to stay with their family during our worship service – the sounds of babies in the sanctuary is a wonderful thing – however, we also know that for some families having loving adults who will care for their youngest family members allows them to focus more on worshiping God during the service.

We have a nursery available that is staffed by caring adults who just love watching these wonderful treasures.

While in the nursery your child will have a chance to play, have some snacks, be read to and often will have a short and age-appropriate mini-lesson.

The nursery is also staffed during Sunday School and Wednesday nights.

Wednesday NightIMG_2222

On Wednesday nights our elementary children have an age-appropriate Bible lesson such as one of our recent series where we discussed how they can hear God and follow him in their life.

Besides the lesson the kids can also usually be heard throughout the building having a fun time playing games, making crafts, and eating a snack.

We also encourage the kids to complete a worksheet each week at home with their family so what they are talking about on Wednesday night is reinforced at home.

Children6Special Events

In addition to our regularly scheduled programming we also try to do several fun events each year with our children.

We also encourage our kids to attend Tri-State camp – both in the summer at at various retreats throughout the year.

NOTE: All of our nursery, children’s ministry, and youth ministry volunteers have had background checks.
